Coach Storm's “Tom’s Top 42” Position Name High School Class College Choice Guard Mary Louise
Dixon Guard Natalie Gomez
Forward Lauren Battista Oliver Ames Senior Bentley Forward Katie Zenevitch Central Catholic Center Valerie
Driscoll Archbishop Williams Senior “6th Man” Christine
Ganser Mary Louise Dixon helped lead Wellesley to the
2008 D2 state title and a 38 game win streak over 2 years…She is a “pass 1st”
point guard who loves the game and one kid that I love to watch play…She was
named a Herald All Scholastic last year as well…Natalie Gomez was a Herald Dream Teamer who “averaged” close to a
triple double with 15 PPG, 10 assists, and 8 boards each night…and she
defends with 5 steals a game… Lauren
Battista was another herald All Scholastic is a terrific all-around
player and one of the best ever to play at Oliver Ames. She scored 23 points a game, rebounds,
throws a great outlet pass, and best of all sees the floor and keeps her
teammates all involved…Bentley is getting a real good one here....Central
Catholic’s 6’3” Katie Zenevitch
has done it all individually and now has been part of a D1 state title
team…all she did in the 2 biggest games of last year was go for 31 with 21
boards at the Garden and then for 28 with 25 rebounds in the state
championship!...amazing numbers…She was a Herald Dream Teamer and has twice
been a Herald All Scholastic and the Globe Super Team..and then she becomes
an Eagle at BC....The Archie’s 6’ 4” Val
Driscoll pumped in about 20 a game last winter and even had 4 triple
doubles this year including this line against Franklin…31 points, 17 boards,
and 14 blocks…now that’s a triple double!...She led her team back to the
Garden for the 3rd straight season. Now you know why Michigan of the Big 10
wants her come next fall…Holy Cross bound Christine Ganser has already passed the 1,000 point barrier as a
Needham Rocket…she is another who scored over 20 a game last year and look
for more in this her senior season.
This kid can bang inside and still step behind the arc and knock down
3’s… Second Team Position Name High School Class College Choice Guard Lindsey
Roche Guard Blake
Dietrick Forward Brittany
Obi-Tabot Forward Lauren
Fiola Durfee Senior UMass Lowell Center Rashidat
Agboola “6th Man” Brenna
Gonsalves Coyle Cassidy Junior Only a Junior Lindsey Roche is a hoop junky who loves the
game and has gotten rewarded with a D2 scholarship to Assumption…this kid has
as sweet a shooting stroke as you will see and is so unselfish on the court
that Coach Brady has to stay on her to shoot when she’s open…Blake Dietrick is a 3 sport star (and
I mean star!) at Wellesley and this super junior can do it all on the court
as she scores close to 17 a game with 5 assists each contest and also led the
team in steals with over 3 a game…at 5’10 she may have be Wellesley’s leading
rebounder this year as well…don’t be surprised as she should have a superb
season as she is physically stronger now and combine this with her skills and
look out.…Brittany Obi-Tabot is
long and lean with big hands who cleans the glass better than Windex pulling
down over 12 boards a game while also scoring 18 a night…this Middlesex
League All Star gets better all the time and that’s why she’s heading off to
play D1 college ball at Fairfield next year…Lauren Fiola is a “double-double” machine as she has averaged
close to 17 points and 12 boards a game for both her sophomore and junior
seasons…she also played hurt with a serious calf injury half of last
year…she’s healthy now so look out D1 South…Coach O’Neill at UMass Lowell is
getting a good one the next 4 years…Rashidat
Agboola is 6’ tall and can sky with the best of them…She was named the D2
MVC Player of the Year and scored 20 PPG this winter…kid is so talented she
is another D1 college scholarship kid heading to play for BU next winter…Brenna Gonsalves is 5’ 10” and has a
chance to be one of the best ever to play at Coyle Cassidy…She scored over 19
a game last year and absolutely flies on the court…kid also has a great
handle so combined with her speed she is devastating in the open court on the
break… Third Team Position Name High School Class College Choice Guard Tiana
Johnson Guard Nicole
Boudreau Forward Amber
Dillon Forward Nicole
Beresford Center “6th Man” Elizabeth
Belanger Tiana Johnson is as pure a point guard as you’ll
see.…this tiny southpaw is just as good with her right hand and is ALWAYS
looking to set up a teammate before thinking about her shot…she is so fast
that rumor has it that when she shuts the light switch off on the wall at
night that she’s under the covers before the room gets dark… Nicole Boudreau made quite the
splash as a frosh last year is one of the best shooters these eyes have seen
in the last 10 years…she scored over 18 a game including scoring 27 in her 1st
varsity game and another game where she hit nine 3’s…she knocked down 88
(yep…88) 3’s last year as a frosh…she also sees the floor really well as I
had her for 5 assists each time I saw Andover play…what a future this young
star has in front of her… Amber Dillon
is a 5’8 whirling dervish who is lightning on the court and can get to the
hoop on anyone…great handle and sees the floor really well…should be a very
bright light for Brookline this winter…Nicole
Beresford is 6’ tall with guard skills and 3 point range…she was named to
the Herald All Scholastic team and should break the magic 1,000 barrier
before the New Year gets rung in as she has averaged almost 21 PPG for her
career…imagine?...The late James Brown was often called “the hardest working
man in show biz…” I think of James Brown when I watch Tori Faieta play as she is probably the hardest working girl in
EMass hoops…kid gives 110% on the court every second and it shows with her
results…she has nice low post moves and can hit that 15 footer facing the
hoop as well…Liz Belanger is just
about 6' and has that complete all-around game I love to watch…she’s big
enough to bang inside yet has the handle of a guard, can hit the “3”, sees
the floor really well and just has that great basketball IQ that a coach
can’t teach. Fourth Team Position Name High School Class College Choice Guard Amy
Pelletier Bishop Fenwick Junior Only a Junior Guard Jenicia
Duggins Lynn English Senior Don’t Know Guard Dyamond
Gardner Forward Asia
Center Tori
Lehr Cohasset Senior Don’t Know “6th Man” Sophie
Bikofsky Amy Pelletier is a point guard who can also
shoot the rock…kid can flat out play…should be a breakout season this year
for this kid who will someday make a college coach very, very happy.…Jenicia Duggins has been doing it all
for Lynn English for 4 years now…she can get to the hoop, play dynamite “D”,
see the floor and knock down an occasional 3 here and there…Coach Hogan will
miss her when she graduates… Cambridge’s junior guard Dyamond Gardner had a terrific soph season scoring about 19 per
contest…this kid has got it all as she can knock down “3’s”…get to the
rack…see the floor…the whole package…Coach Dana Ellcock is glad she has 2
more years…Stonehill bound Asia Ewing is
5’10, rugged, athletic, and has a high motor…she has been a leader for the
Grey Ghosts for 3 years and will be the driving force for Westford again this
winter…One look at 6’1 Tori Lehr
and you say “that girl must play hoops.” And boy does she play the game…she
is strong, runs like a deer, can hit the turnaround jumper and block
shots…Cohasset will miss her when she is gone next year…Sophie Bikofsky is a newcomer to this club as a junior but I
think she’ll be here next year as well…this personable kid can stick the “3”
ball and then blow by you to the rack…she will play hard on the defensive end
and also see the floor…this silky smooth southpaw is 5’10 with legit guard
skills who I think will get better and better as she continues to work at her
game… Fifth Team Position Name High School Class College Choice Guard Ashleigh
Condon Guard Guard-Frwd Alex
Rurycz Forward Cara
Paladino Center Johnna
Fisher “6th Man” Ashley
Viselli Pentucket Senior Don’t Know Senior point guard Ashleigh
Condon has recently come to my attention and I’m glad someone pointed out
her skills to me as she is a good one…she has great poise on the floor, can
dish it, shoot it, and never gets rattled…she will be a great floor leader
for Hull this winter as I look for her and her team to have a great year… Bria Tiro has that true shooter’s
mentality…you know…they always think the next one is going in…and in her case
that approach works really, really well as the next one often does go in…kid
has a good handle and should have a super senior season…Alex Rurycz may be somewhat of an unknown North of the Cape but
this kid can play…girl has guard skills and is close to 6 feet tall…hopefully
Barnstable can make the tourney this year so more fans get a chance to see
her play as she loves the game…Cara
Paladino will fool you as she plays inside a lot and is only about 5’8
and usually goes against kids 3 to 5 inches taller who probably think they
can out board her and swat away all her shots…it doesn’t happen as this kid
has the heart of a lion and can rebound with anyone and put the ball in the
hoop…this year she’ll be fooling people again…at least those that don’t think
she can hit the outside shot…she has the whole package now…Johnna Fisher seems to get taller
each time I see her…6’2 anyways…maybe more…kid had some knee troubles last
year but is healthy now so look out for this long Winthropite as she should
be a force this winter…Ashley Viselli
is one of those kids who can score the ball as she should break the 1,000 point barrier this year yet still
sees the floor with over 3 assists per game and also is big enough to be a
force on the boards…she will be the go-to person again on Pentucket. Sixth Team Position Name High School Class College Choice Guard Gabie
Polce Central Catholic Junior Only
a Junior Guard Mieshia
Reynolds New Forward Kellie
McDonald Forward Center Keisha
Jean-Louis “6th Man” Niesha
Kelly New She sings like Taylor Swift (did you hear her sing all
those national anthems last year) and her game is sweet music to Coach
Downer’s ears as Gabie Polce is
one talented and tough point guard.
Kid has one state title and could she get another this year?...Mieshia Reynolds is small in stature
only as this kid is tough as nails and will destroy you off the dribble…she
will again be the dynamite point for New Mission as they chase another D4
state title…Kellie McDonald is a silky smooth 6 footer who runs well…has a
real nice stroke on her “J”…bangs on the boards…kid can play…Siena Mamayek is 5’10 but ends up in
the middle most of the time for Melrose…kid can face the hoop and hit the 15
footer and then ball fake and blow by you for a layup…Keisha Jean-Louis is a legit 6’3 and runs like a deer…her
footwork down low has really improved and she is virtually unstoppable down
low now…getting better with staying straight up blocking shots also…she has a
chance to be a real force this year if she can stay out of foul trouble…Niesha Kelly is the other guard at
New Mission and she is another who flies all over the floor on both ends and
can get to the rack… Seventh Team Position Name High School Class College Choice Guard Colleen
Hanscom Guard Briana
Hunt Guard Alyssa
Roach Guard Djaidah
Wynn Fwd/Center Molly
Breen Millis Senior Don’t Know “6th Man” Lindsey
Jones Colleen Hanscom is not flashy…just solid as a
rock on the court…she sees the floor…penetrates and kicks…can hit the “3”…she
will be the coach on the floor for Melrose this year…Brianna Hunt is a kid who can do it all on the court…hit the
“3”…handle…see the floor…defend…she is a perfect piece in the Newton North
puzzle as this club rises high this season…Alyssa Roach is 5’9 and can probably play any position on the
court…big enough to board…fast enough to blow by people…can really hit the
“3” ball…and plays 110% all 32 minutes…Djaidah
Wynn gives Coach DeSantis 2 dynamite point guard types on the court with
this dynamo and Briana Hunt…this kid flies all over the place on both ends
and will be a big part of what should be a very successful winter in Newton…Molly Breen had a super junior year
scoring over 16 a game but how big did this 6’ star come up in Millis’ state
title game?...Huge is the right word as she pumped in 28 points… Lindsey Jones is a personal fave as
she just plays the way I like to see kids play…110% all the time…pass 1st
mentality yet can stick the “3” rebound and defend. Injury
Impacted Years Position Name High School Class College
Choice Guard Kate
McDonald Durfee Senior Franklin Pierce Guard Jackie
Francona I thought I would throw out these kids names for some
special recognition as they have been greatly setback by off-season injuries…..Kate McDonald is a kid I love to
watch play as she is as clever a point guard as there is around…unfortunately
she tore her ACL in a fall AAU tourney and is out for her senior season…the
Durfee team has just been devastated with key injuries for like 5 straight
seasons now…Jackie Francona is
still another with an ACL injury (boy is this ACL thing a killer in the
girl’s game) but is expected back for the 2nd half of this her
sophomore season. Honorable
